The latest leaks and official teasers for the Vivo X Fold 6 give a pretty clear picture of what to expect. Vivo executives have started sharing details in China, and real-life photos of a green model have already leaked online.
Instead of using a Snapdragon chip like previous models, rumors point to Vivo switching to MediaTek’s most powerful processor for this generation. The phone is expected to launch in China by the end of June 2026.
Design and Displays
- Inner Screen: A large 8.01-inch folding display. It features a sharp 2K resolution and uses Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) to keep the screen protected yet flexible. Teasers show the inner display will have more rounded corners and a slightly wider shape than the older X Fold 5.
- Outer Screen: A 6.51-inch cover display, making it feel like a normal smartphone when folded shut.
- Build: Leaks suggest it will maintain a high level of water and dust resistance, likely holding an IP58 or IP59 rating.
Hardware and Battery
- Processor: It is expected to run on the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, which provides top-tier performance and handles demanding tasks smoothly.
- Battery: The phone is tipped to pack a massive battery capacity of around 6,900mAh to 7,000mAh. This would give it one of the largest batteries ever seen in a folding phone. It will also support wireless charging.
- Security: Instead of an under-display scanner, this model is rumored to use a side-mounted fingerprint sensor built into the power button.
Cameras
- Rear Cameras: A triple-camera setup on the back, led by a massive 200-megapixel main camera.
- Secondary Rear Cameras: A 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens for zooming in on far-away subjects.
- Selfie Cameras: There are two 20-megapixel front cameras—one on the outside cover screen and one on the inside folding screen.
New Software and AI Features
The phone will debut with a brand-new operating system called OriginOS 6 Fold. Vivo designed this software specifically to help you do more at once on the big screen. It features an updated “Atomic Workbench” that makes multitasking easier, and it allows you to run multiple apps and AI tools at the same time without the phone slowing down.
Expected Timeline: Vivo is heavily rumored to officially unveil the X Fold 6 in China toward the end of June 2026. Keep in mind that Vivo traditionally launches its foldables in China first. If you are waiting for a global release, it typically follows a few months after the initial domestic launch.
